In the BLOG entry “Let there be Light” I discussed motorcycle headlights and lighting for motorcycles. One of the options suggested was to upgrade your headlight globe with a “better” globe.

My research in this area pointed me to Philips X-treme bulbs as my upgrade bulb of choice. From my nearby Autobarn I purchased a set for around AUS$85.00.

A site browse reveals the same product considerably cheaper (after GPB conversion to AUS$) with a bonus freebie as the purchase was over fifteen pound. Add some Philips indicator globes (amber but a “mirrored finish’ so no amber bulb visible). A visit to the shopping cart and a PAYPAL transaction later I am down less than AUS$50.00.

Small package arrives, via AUSPOST, ten days later and all is as ordered and intact.

There is a cost/gratification, balance/issue with current exchange rate, freight costs, local availability and convenience to assess. In the case of this type of purchase the OS purchased proved good value.
