Multi Lanes

The GTR and I went for a little cruise (17/5). Off to the dealer to get a couple of small bits then a ride through the “CLEM7″ tunnel because I took a wrong exit. Ending up on the south side, I made a residence pit stop and then off to Noosavile to AussieBiker, so I could purchase a couple of “CrampBusters”. Good Excuse for a ride!

A run over the Gateway Bridge and multi lanes all the way to Noosavile exit. The need for a cruise control is very evident.Coolish 14C, it’s Queensland, rising to 20C. I appreciation the heated handgrips, set to low on occasion. No liners in the DryRider and a short sleeve shirt make for cool arms. Will have to put them in the FarRide#13 to Mitchell the end of the month.

The Zumo 220 makes its first outing and establishes that the speedo is around 5kph fast. Not bad. Garmin colours aren’t the best (IMHO). Works with gloves okay. With the EAR ear plugs well fitted, the male voice is hard to hear through the helmet speakers via the Scala Rider Team Set, bluetooth connection.

I take a picture or two using the RAM camera mount. The camera is looking through the windshield and I am concerned about distortion, clarity and focus. The camera mount is steady and has no observable shaking with the camera in place. Good, as the camera thread is a plastic insert and are prone to damage (not really designed for a motorcycle camera mounting via the thread).

A fuel at Noosavile reveals the bikes averaging 6.45 L/100klm. The use of ECON mode indicates that I will have a range of at least 300klm before the reserve warning comes on, with a steady throttle.

A good electronic cruise would probably improve it more. I feel a ride down south to Dale at  DMME is in order shortly. Perhaps an early Christmas present. I wish to upgrade my com’s setup as well. $$$$$

Made a new LOG entry (see links on sidebar) and have had a play with the BLOG look and feel.

Until next time
